Our members can be of any age, although most have already finished working for a living and now spend their leisure time actively pursuing their interests and hobbies.
They come from all walks of life. They may have been engineers, homemakers, academics, counselors, steelworkers, park rangers, or school teachers.
In other words, people who join the Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) tend to be folks just like you – inquisitive, curious, analytical.
Many come to the ILR out of curiosity but stay because of the friendships they have made.
Although “Retirement” is in our name, you do not need to be retired to join. Details about becoming a member can be found below.
