Classes are activities held at the Fowler Building (headquarters) or online. They can be lectures, group discussions, applied art, handicrafts, games, demonstrations, or training. Classes can have one, two or multiple sessions. Each session can last between 60 and 180 minutes.
Admission to classes is on first-come - first-served basis
Trips are activities held at other locations than the Fowler Building. They can be lectures, visits to museums, exhibitions, memorial houses, historical venues, or hikes, bikes, boat tours, or lunch out. The trips are usually regional, within a 60-minute drive from Slippery Rock. The activity per session lasts, in general, 2 to 4 hours, but day trips are common. Occasionally, bus trips with an overnight stay are offered.

DownloadILR members may invite a Guest (free of membership dues) one time/semester to an ILR class that they are taking. An individual non-member may visit one ILR class as a Guest on a space available basis. Non-members may register for trips, special events, and one-day workshops, as Guests, but pay the class fees as specified in the catalog. The ILR member who invites a Guest, needs to:
